FLEUR-DE-LYS CLUB MANAGER
The Fleur-de-lys Club at Hilton College invites applications for the
position of Club Manager, due to become vacant from 1 December
2008 owing to the retirement of the incumbent.
The Fleur-de-lys Club provides an important hospitality service to the
Hiltonian community, particularly its members, the College, Old
Hiltonians, parents and students, and is very much a “front of house”
operation. It also manages outside use of College facilities.
Whilst more details will be made available to suitable candidates
selected for interview the following sets out the essential criteria
for the position and which will be used to identify possible candidates
for interview:

Exceptional interpersonal and
communication skills enabling successful engagement with members,
parents, College staff members and students.

The ability to deliver consistently a
high quality personal service.

Appropriate levels of hospitality
industry knowledge and relevant practical experience in operating a
small business.

The ability to plan and manage
conferences and festivals.
-
The ability to plan for key
activities and ensure that there are adequate resources available to
meet such activities.

The ability to take responsibility
for and undertake all the management and administrative activities
associated with the Club’s operation.

Attention to detail and accuracy in
all tasks is considered vital to the success of the Club’s
operation.
The essential elements of the position
include:

The position is a permanent and full
day position, however, the specific days of operation are governed
by the needs of the operation which will include weekends, with the
result that the Club may be closed on Mondays and/or Tuesdays in
lieu thereof. These hours will be determined by the Club’s
Management Committee from time to time whilst allowing for a degree
of flexibility.

The Memorabilia Shop itself is only
open for trade for certain hours as set by the Club’s Management
Committee and which differ from the hours of operation of the Club
itself.

Certain Saturdays and weekends during
term time that correspond to specific periods and events in the
school calendar are regarded as normal working days.

Leave is usually taken during the
December/January school holidays. The total number of leave days
meets normal commercial practice.

Remuneration is subject to agreement
between the parties but is considered by the Club Management
Committee to be fair and competitive in the market place.
