Douglas Cup
2008

On Sunday 9th March the Douglas Cup took place at Bosch Hoek Golf
Club on another beautiful day in the Midlands. The eighth match
against Michaelhouse lived up to its reputation of producing good
golf and a number of matches went to the final green. Hilton took a
5 point lead into lunch after the Betterball and the Foursomes
matches. The final half point required to defend the trophy was won
simultaneously by Shane Fainsinger when he halved his match and
Garth Gerber when he went three up with three to play.
The trophy was presented by Harvey Douglas after whom the event is
named. Nick Rowlinson (Hilton Captain) and Stephen Lishman (Michaelhouse
Captain) both made very good speeches.
