Newboys' Induction/Night Relay Gala

Dear McKenzie Family

On Thursday 21 February there was a New Boys’ Induction Ceremony in the Theatre. This is an occasion where the Headmaster presents each new boy with his Hiltonian certificate signifying he has passed his new boys test and has formally been inducted into the school. Mr Lovatt read an extract from “Lift up your hearts” about the daily routine back in the late 1800’s which was both different and similar in some aspects.

Each Head of House then introduced each new boy to the Headmaster who presented them with their certificate.

I am very pleased and proud of our new boys who have made a good start to their Hilton careers. My thanks to Matt van Asche, Grant Tromp, Andrew Giliam and our Counsellor, Mr Dave Watson for all they have done for them to assist to them in this process.

The Interhouse Swimming Relay Gala was held on Friday night and our team did well. At one stage we were lying in 2nd place but eventually ended 4th. My thanks to Tyrone Sclanders for organizing our team.
