SATURDAY 12 APRIL 2008

 

07H45 – 11H15        SCHOLARSHIP CANDIDATES arrive and proceed to MEMORIAL HALL to write examinations

 

11H15-11H40          SCHOLARSHIP CANDIDATES taken to HOUSES by Senior boys to unload luggage.                                                                   Boys then taken to THEATRE for Headmaster’s welcome.

 

10H00-10H45           BOYS and PARENTS arrive. When you get to the main gates of the school, you will be directed to the HOUSE
           
where your son will be sleeping. Please go straight there and REGISTER, collect name tags and unload luggage.

 

10h00 –10H45          TEA on the lawns in front of the CAMPBELL BLOCK (main administration building). 

 

10H45                         BOYS will then be guided by senior Hilton boys around the school from the CAMPBELL BLOCK.

 

10H45- 11h45           PARENTS to THEATRE.

11H45                         ALL BOYS arrive at Theatre for Welcome by the Headmaster

 

11H45-12H15           Welcome by Headmaster and Choir performance

 

12H15-13H00           PARENTS in groups to HOUSES for Q & A session. 
        For those parents who have not toured the school – small groups will be taken by members of staff.

                                     

13H00 – 14H30        PARENTS are invited to the FLEUR-DE-LYS CLUB for lunch.

                                      There will be a cash bar available.

 

                                   BOYS lunch in the DINING HALL

                            After lunch there will be an opportunity for PARENTS to take a bus tour of parts of the ESTATE.
        Details will be available at the Fleur‑de‑Lys Club at lunchtime.

                                     

    Members of staff will be available to discuss specific aspects of the school with parents.
    (e.g. Music, Sport, Spiritual Life etc.)  PARENTS are asked to leave after lunch, or when the tours are over.

 

14H00 – 17H00        BOYS go to various sports and games. These will include a variety of outdoor activities and fun games
        including swimming.  If you have a mountain bike, bring it with you.  

 

17H15                         Shower and change

 

18H15                         SUPPER in DINING HALL  

 

19H00                         EVENING PROGRAMME  IN THE THEATRE

 

21H00                         Back to HOUSES

 

SUNDAY 13 APRIL 2008

 

06H45                         RISING BELL

 

07H30                         BREAKFAST in the DINING HALL

 

08H00                         BOYS to CENTRE FOR INNOVATION

                                      Question and Answer session

 

09H00                         CHAPEL. PARENTS are invited to join their sons for this Service. Casual dress

09H30                         TEA on lawns  

09H45                        PARENTS are invited to join their sons for a WALK ON THE ESTATE.
       
Some of the staff and senior boys will take groups to see something of our Estate.
      Walks will range from easy to more challenging, depending on demand.
      Options will be fully explained.
      There will be school transport if you prefer not to walk, or you can drive your own vehicle to the picnic site. 

 

                                      Please bring walking shoes, comfortable clothes, sun hats and swimming costumes!

 

12H00                         A PICNIC LUNCH at the Umgeni river. Again there will be a cash bar available.

 

13H00                         Transport back to school will begin at 13H00 and continue throughout the afternoon.

NOTES

Dress: Boys

1.         Boys should arrive at Hilton in their present school uniforms.

2.         Boys should bring:

(a)     Casual clothing - shorts, walking shoes and a sun hat/cap.

(b)     Swimming costume and swimming towel

(c)     Toilet requisites (including soap) and bath towel

(d)     Sporting equipment and clothes – depending on the boy’s interest. Mountain bikes are optional.
   
All sport played over the weekend is at a FUN GAMES level.

(e)     Pillows, linen and blankets are provided.

 

 

Dress: Parents

1.         Saturday – casual - suitable for walking around the school. 

2.         Sunday – very casual - suitable for a walk and picnic. Walking shoes  and

            sun hat essential.
