TRAVEL
COACHES TO AND FROM DURBAN/JOHANNESBURG
LONG LEAVE AND END OF
TERM
A service is provided
for those requiring transport at the beginning and end of terms, and for Long
Leave. The Durban coach terminus is at the Westville Pavilion Shopping Centre
parking area. No other stops are made. The Johannesburg coach terminus is at
the Zoo Lake Restaurant. Stops are made en route to drop off boys living in
other areas and for refreshments. Departure times of school coaches are advertised
in the school calendar. Return journey times are set at 6.15p.m. for the Durban
coach and 1.00p.m. for the Johannesburg coach.
BOOKINGS FOR COACHES
Boys are strongly
advised to use the internal booking system. Lists are put up in each House for
boys to fill in their name. The lists are then compiled three days before departure.
Late bookings, cancellations or changes can be made by the boys at the Front Office or by parents by TELEPHONE ONLY.
Mrs. Shan Bourdillon is the liaison person for the Johannesburg coach and may be contacted on 011-4633102(H) Cell 0824954905. She can assist with late bookings/cancellations or information regarding the RETURN trip back to school.
DURBAN BUS (SUNDAY) TERM
TIME ONLY
When there is a demand
(i.e. 15 or more passengers) this service is provided for boys returning to
school from the Durban area. The bus departs from the Pavilion Shopping Centre,
Westville, at 5.15p.m. on Sunday afternoons.
Boys must book for this bus at the Front Office by 10.30a.m. on the Friday preceding the Sunday service required. Full details are provided for the boys in the book Beacons.
AIR TRAVEL
Boys wishing to
fly home at the end of terms, as well as returning to school by air after the
holidays, must have their seats booked by their parents. It is essential that
bookings are arranged so that boys do not leave early or return late to school.

We require the following information:
This must be done well in
advance (at least 7 days) so that transport to and from the airports can be
arranged by the school. There are often a number of boys on the same flight
and we are then able to
co-ordinate groups of boys onto one minibus.
If you are arranging your own transport to the airport for your son, we still need to know the full flight details.
In the event that you are unable to contact the receptionist, please give all the details to your son's Housemaster to forward to her.
