PIETERMARITZBURG YOUTH CHOIR AND HILTON COLLEGE CHOIR IN UNISON

An exciting addition to the Midlands musical scene has been the formation and rapid growth of the Pietermaritzburg Youth Choir. The choir joined forces with the Hilton College Choir and Jazz band for an afternoon of music last Sunday in Hilton College’s newly renovated Memorial Theatre. Under the guidance of Rykie Boeke the choir has a wide range of music from sacred classical to modern choral and traditional gospel. The choir was formed last year and has grown quickly in numbers and repertoire. The concert also showcased Hilton College’s jazz band and the Anchormen Choir.

Hilton’s choir has been hard at work preparing their Olympics Choir Competition programme, as they embark upon their first international tour to the World Choir Games in Graz, Austria from 1 - 15 July 2008.
