Grant Edkins and Ben Tshiteya - Habitat for Humanity

The school was addressed on Monday 17th at 9.45am by Grant Edkins and Ben Tshiteya on a NGO habitat for Humanity. In a very lively presentation which included interactive activities such as hammering nails into planks, a Powerpoint presentation and speeches, the boys were challenged to join a volunteer building team and participate in a nation building project. The organization has already built 2000 homes in KZN, Gauteng and the Western Cape.

Clinton Poole and Casper Badenhorst emerged as the most proficient "nailers" and the presentation was a very worthwhile event as far as raising awareness and community service and identity are concerned. It is hoped that we can send a busload of Grade 10's to a build at Shongweni on June 16th as part of their Outreach programme.
