Camp Out

The New Boys in each House have a camp out overnight as part of their Induction Programme. The purpose of this outing is to introduce them to the Henley Lapa site at the river as well as give them some "time out".

New Boys 1st week is over!

Our new boys have successfully completed their first week at Hilton. On Thursday evening they had a new boys braai at the pool and on Sunday morning, in House teams, they ventured over to the Supply Dams where they then proceeded to build a raft. It was a cool and cloudy Sunday morning which was just what we needed after a very hot week. Needless to say some rafts barely managed to stay afloat! After returning to school on Sunday they had lunch and a "chilled" afternoon which was needed by all! They have had a busy and productive first week.

New Boys settling in

The 2012 new boys are making their mark and have enjoyed a busy two days of orientation around the school as well as sport in the afternoon. In the next couple of days they will continue with their Induction Programme as they get to know the routine at the school and what is expected of them. They have done very well up to now and we are proud of them!

Old Boy returns after 64 years!

Steven Staples visited Hilton this week for the first time since leaving at the end of 1948. He has lived for many years in Toronto, and was one of the founding Trustees of The Hilton College Foundation of Canada, a trust recently established to raise funds amongst Old Hiltonians resident in Canada in order to provide bursaries to enable deserving boys to attend Hilton College.

Boarding is fun!

A fundamental aspect of Hilton College is boarding and our new boys are adjusting and having fun as well making new mates. The games of touch rugby have begun and dormitory life is an adjustment but on the whole great fun!

Tradition

It was a special occasion to welcome our new boys to Hilton but in particular Sam Willis who is the great, great grandson of Wac Campbell. Wac Campbell was a pupil in the very early days of the school and is acknowledged as one of Hilton's greatest benefactors. The Chairman of the Old Boys Club, Justin Platt, welcomed Sam to Hilton.
